Chinchilla Names

It may be a fun responsibility to some pet owners but to others, it is quite a dilemma. Choosing the perfect name for your pet chinchilla can be quite overwhelming if you have no idea at all. What are the things that you need to consider?

Excited pet owners, even when they have not yet purchased themselves their pet chinchillas, already have a name ready for them. Some base it on the type or kind of personality that their chinchilla has after purchasing them. These fuzzy creatures have been called by a lot of names by their pet owners just to make them unique from the rest.

Most pet owners prefer to name their pets according to their physical appearance. They have been called names such as Pepper, Honey, Sugar and even Salt and these names all sound good to name a furry adorable creature like a chinchilla. There are other names you can call your chinchilla too such as Spot, Fluffy or Speckles. The name you call your pet can be based on how you, as a pet owner describes it – such as Hefty for a plump chinchilla or Whimpy if he is skinny or small. Sonar is also a popular name among chinchillas because of their big ears that seem to catch every sound in their environment.

Most people think that the best way to choose the best name for a pet chinchilla is by how they act. Some chinchillas can be hyperactive, climbing everywhere and jumping everywhere in their cage. Because in the wild they are used to climbing rocky surfaces such as mountains and in escaping their fiercest predators, chinchillas are very good in climbing and jumping. Thus, pet owners who have done their fair share of researching about their pets come up with names such as Spunky, Feisty, Skippy and Jumpy. Other chinchillas can be quite laid back than others too and they are those who are more interested in napping the day away instead of scurrying all over the place. They are pretty determined in the way they act. If you have chosen a chinchilla that is super active, then your chinchilla is probably going to remain that way all the time. If you have purchased a shy chinchilla, you can make an effort to let your pet get comfortable with you by devoting a lot of time with them. But others are pretty shy as well.

Chinchillas primarily originate from the Andes Mountain range and so some pet owners often name them from their place of origin too. Naming pet chinchillas is really quite fun and so other pet owners prefer to name them with the things that they enjoy doing too or the things that they adore including famous Hollywood celebrities to music artists, cartoon characters and the like. There are various names you can choose from. The names you choose for your pet chinchilla is really up to you. Make it a fun experience to be able to baptize your pet chinchilla with the name of your choosing.
